Infusion — Dried leaves

Classic lemon verbena infusion

Pour simmering water over a teaspoon of dried leaves, allow to infuse for about 8 to 10 minutes covered, then strain. Enjoy after meals or in the evening. 1 teaspoon of dried leaves per cup, 1 to 3 cups per day.

Infusion — Fresh leaves

Fresh garden leaf infusion

Lightly crush a few fresh leaves to release their fragrance, then infuse them in hot water for a few minutes before straining. A simple preparation, as traditionally done in the garden. A small handful of fresh leaves per cup.

Obtaining the plant

It can be found dried at herbalists and in commerce as herbal tea, as well as fresh in the garden where it is easily grown in pots in temperate regions.

The leaves are preferably harvested in summer, in dry weather, before flowering, when their lemony fragrance is most pronounced.
