Infusion — Flowering tops and dried leaves
Traditional infusion
Pour simmering water over the dried leaves and flowering tops, steep for about ten minutes covered, then strain. This preparation was traditionally consumed warm after meals. 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried plant per cup, once or twice daily.
Decoction — Fresh or dried leaves
Decoction for external use
Boil the leaves for a few minutes in water, allow to cool, then strain. The resulting liquid was traditionally used to soak a compress applied to the skin, under professional supervision in case of doubt. Dosage should be validated with a healthcare professional or recognized pharmacopoeia before use.

Sourcing the plant
It is found in the wild in humid and mountainous areas of East Asia, and is sometimes cultivated in gardens or available in dried form at certain herbalist shops specializing in Asian plants.
