Syrian Oregano

Origanum syriacum
Read before use: the information below describes traditional and informational uses — it does not replace the advice of a healthcare professional. In case of doubt, pregnancy, breastfeeding, ongoing treatment, or use in children, seek advice before use.
Avoid concentrated doses in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as a precaution, as with most aromatic plants rich in essential oils. May cause mild digestive irritation in sensitive individuals with excessive consumption. Seek advice from a healthcare professional if taking medication, particularly anticoagulants. Do not confuse with other oregano species with different properties when harvesting or purchasing.

Traditional za'atar seed infusion

Lightly crush the seeds then infuse in hot water for a few minutes. Strain before drinking, traditionally after meals. 1 to 2 teaspoons of seeds per cup, once or twice daily.

Powder — Seeds / fruits

Aromatic and digestive powder

The dried and ground seeds were mixed with other spices, notably in the famous za'atar blend, to accompany meals and support daily digestion. A pinch incorporated into dishes, according to taste.
